David Wright taking the next step?

As I was watching The Wheel House today on SNY, during the 7th inning stretch in which they generally interview someone live, today they interviewed David Wright. Just watching David's gestures and the way that he spoke, gave me extremely high hopes for this upcoming season, and a feeling that I have not had the previous 2 spring trainings. This was the first time that I felt as though he spoke and at the same time sounded like a leader and not like a highschool girl as Craig Carton would say. In the past he has made statements about how he wants to win a ring and be a champion but I never heard the confidence in his voice the way that I heard it today and hopefully that is a sign of positive things to come for both him in his career and the Mets in their pursuit of a world title. This then leads to the next question. Who would you rather have as your 3B, D-Wright, or Ste-Rod. At this juncture just strictly by numbers I think you still have to say A-Rod, but this could be the year that D-Wright takes that crown away from him. One thing David needs to improve upon is his numbers in clutch spots. With runners in scoring position last year, David hit only .243 with 36 k's. With runners in scoring position and 2 outs he hit a meek .247. He is a vital part of this lineup and if he gets that average up in those spots, I think the Mets are going to win a lot of ball games.
