Mets bring back the "Stache"

According to NY Newsday, the Mets signed 2B - Jose Valentin to a Minor League Contract and invited him to Spring Training. 

If added to the 40 man roster, he would get $800,000 in the Majors and $72,000 in the Minors. 

Jose played in New Orleans last year before calling it quits. His last season playing in the big leagues was in 2007 where he hit .241 with 3 HR's and 18 RBI's. 

It's always worth taking a shot on a utility guy like the "Stache". He had a great influence on Jose Reyes in 2006 and could help out some of the other guys on the roster should he make the club. Good luck Jose!
