Redding Hurt: Mets Lie?

According to Mets Hot Stove Report recently acquired RHP Tim Redding had foot surgery over the winter. The story was broken by pitching coach Dan Warthen, who said that he is "not even evaluating" him yet. This comes as news to us Mets fans, who were under the impression that the Mets signed a healthy pitcher.

The Mets seem to do this often; hiding things from the fans and sometimes flat out lying about it. I understand that in the internet age we feel as fans that we are entitled to know everything, but it just grinds my gears that I hear about it by accident because the pitching coach didn't know any better. Minaya would probably say "You never asked if he was hurt or not," being the Savy individual that he is.
