VOTE 4 PEDRO!
With Freddy Garcia and Tim Redding rumored to be having set backs in spring training, why not give Pedro Martinez a shot. He is a great guy to have around in the locker room and a big motivator. He is pitching in the World Baseball Classic; if he has a great performance a lot of teams might give him a look, including the Mets. Though it is still early in spring training I still think the Mets need to think about Pedro. The pitcher wanted to come back this year; Omar Minaya met with him, so why not give him a shot. With Jon Niese looking good, I think giving him some more competition is a good thing. VOTE 4 PEDRO!

As grateful as I am for the credibility that Pedro brought to the Mets back in 2005, I think its best that they part ways. Pedro is a symbol of the Mets placing too much hope on veterans to help them take the next big step.
ReplyDeletePedro's starts were a mixed bag. He'd get smacked around in the 1st inning and then settle down to give a nice outing. Being placed in a hole early in the game was too much overcome.
I wish him the best of luck wherever he ends up. His Mets legacy is that he gave Mets fans hope and helped change the culture for a team that was in disarray earlier in the decade.
